AMBRIZ BAKING
BY JOANA AMBRIZ
Baking goes back to the 1920s in my family. That’s 24 years after the first oven was invented. I interviewed my older sister Carmen Ambriz. I also did some background research about Buddy Valastro and his baking. Baking has helped my family bond. Baking is something my sister loves to do and these are some of her favorite things about baking. ‘’The way my family family bonds is when we are bake together as a family,’’ said Carmen. Carmen’s favorite thing to bake is any type of cookies. Her specialty is a brookie, a brookie is when a cookie and a brownie are marbled together. All of Carmen’s dishes are made from scratch. Carmen’s go-to flavor is chocolate. ‘’Chocolate is such an amazing flavor to use during baking, it just gives an amazing flavor to anything,’’ claimed Carmen. Buddy Valastro, a world famous baker who makes amazing cakes for normal people, also loves to use chocolate when baking. ‘’Baking is sort of like a tradition when we have parties, every single time we have a party we have two cakes, one to eat and one to have a cake fight. It gets really messy and there is frosting everywhere,’’ said Carmen. We always bake with my cousins Amy, Adrianna, and Becky. It always ends is so much fun! Baking has always been an important role in my family bonding experience. When I interviewed my sister I learned a lot about how she got into baking. I learned about how baking has changed my sister’s life an how it bonds my family, |

my top 3 mexican foods
BY JUAN RIVERA
There are so many good Mexican foods. Food is important to me because it is good. I like Mexican food because it has a taste that makes it really good. Chilaquiles are good. I wish I knew how to make chilaquiles. The ingredients are vegetable oil for frying, corn tortillas, 2 large boiled eggs, ⅓ cups of shredded Monterey cheese, 3 table spoon filled with white onion, and crema fresca or sour cream. Tacos remind me of when me and my family made them or sometimes we just go eat tacos. The ingredients of tacos are corn tortillas and meets like shredded beef, chorizo, and beef tongue. I like mole because my family always makes mole and that’s the only mole I like. The ingredients are peanut oil, chicken thighs, table salt, orange juice, onion, and almonds. I like Mexican food because actual Mexicans make Mexican food and they make it really good. I learned that food was most important because it’s for your body. |
